The 16th Ostravsky Konik Chess Festival launches on Friday, May 1st in Ostrava, Czech Republic, and continues until May 10th. The Festival consists of 4-player double round-robin Supertournament, FIDE Open, National Open, Rapid, Blitz, Bughouse and Children tournaments. In addition, simultaneous and blindfold exhibitions will take place on the city’s main Masaryk square, prior to the Festival opening.

In the opening day, the Under-15 Open and Girls championship got underway and a total number of 69 players including former World Under-10 bronze medalist Prince Bajaj are participating. Top four players from both Open and Girls category will represent Delhi State in the forthcoming National Sub Junior Chess Championships.

The 4th Polonia Wroclaw International Chess Tournament, under management of Chess Club Polonia Wroclaw and Lower Silesian Chess Federation, is scheduled to take place on 20-26th June. The playing venue is Hotel “GEM”, ul. Mianowskiego 2B, Wroclaw, Poland. The participants will be split in three groups, according to rating, with another separate section for children born on year 2000 or after.
