On Saturday 27th November, the final of BNbank Blitz will be played at Oslo Central Train Station. 12 players will compete, among which are five invited professionals, six qualifiers from the regional tournaments and one seat was auctioned on the Internet. Chessdom / Chessbomb platform will be the official game broadcast system. The event starts at 12:00 CET.
The playing venue will be in the Niš City Hall and the Mayor Miloš Simonović will make the ceremonial move. The City of Niš is sponsoring the match and Niš Chess Union is the technical organizer.
The tournament already features a strong list of players, headed by GM Aleksandar Kovacevic (SRB), winner of the 16th Bora Kostic Memorial, followed by GM Yuri Solodovnichenko (UKR), GM David Alberto (LUX), GM Mihail Marin (ROU, player, teacher and author), GM Alexander Kovchan, GM Roland Salvador (PHI) and GM Sinisa Drazic.

The second international Tata Chess and Studies Day will be held on Saturday, January 29th 2011 in De Moriaan in Wijk aan Zee (Netherlands) as part of Tata chess tournament and in collaboration with ARVES. Current solving world champion GM John Nunn (England) and former solving world champion GM Piotr Murdzia (Poland) have already confirmed their participation.

The French Chess Federation (FFE) will organize next European Chess Championships. This prestigious tournament will take place in Aix-les-Bains, from 2011, March 21st – April 3rd.
The Super Final of the Russian Women Chess Championship is taking place 16-27 November in Moscow. It is a round robin event with 12 participants and a prize fund of . 11 rounds will be played with time control 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, and 30 minutes to the end, with 30 seconds increment starting at move 1. Rounds are played daily as the 22nd is rest day. The total prize fund is close to 50 000 USD.
The National University of Mexico (UNAM) will celebrate 100 years anniversary with a strong chess festival. The main event of the Ajedrez UNAM festival is the Iberoamarican Championship. The Cuadrangular Elite tournament is also set to take place, with the participation of Veselin Topalov, Vassily Ivanchuk, Judith Polgar, and Manuel Leon Hoyos. Kasparov and Karpov will play a 20 boards simul.
