Our friends at the Ahuntsic Chess Club in Montreal are again hosting the 90th City of Montreal Open Chess Championship, September 10 - 12, 2010 in Montreal, Quebec. A beautiful new playing venue has been obtained that also provides much more room and is conveniently accessible by bus and the metro, and also provides food service on site.
The prize fund has also been increased by $1,000 this year to $6,000, and Goddesschess is again sponsoring additional prizes in the sections for the top female finishers in addition to providing other sponsorship.
Confirmed players include GM Alex Lenderman, GM Bator Sambuev, IM Jean Hebert, WIM Yuan Yuanling, highest rated female player in Canada and a member of the Canadian Women's Chess Olympiad Team, as well as many strong Canadian masters.
