July 8-15th in Hotel Petrus in Paraćin, Serbia

The traditional 4th International Chess Festival “Sport Summer 2011″ is scheduled to take place on July 8-15th in Hotel “Petrus” in Paraćin, Serbia. The main event is called International Championship of Central Serbia, 9-round Swiss tournament with FIDE time control which will be valid for FIDE rating and GM/IM norms.

There are two groups, OPEN A for players rated higher then 2100 and OPEN B for lower rated players.In addition, the 7th “Uroš Dinić” Memorial will commence as 15-minute per player rapid tournament on the main event’s rest day – Sunday, July 10th. Official website is www.paracinchess.rs.

“Extraordinary location, near highway E-75 and cross-road which connects east and west Serbia, will attract many chess players and visitors to participate in this event. Possibility to obtain norms for international chess titles, to stay in a solid hotel with an unusual architectural design, on more then affordable rates, will encourage professional and amateur chess players to participate and accomplish their goals.” – the chief organizer Saša Jevtić stated for Chessdom.

Mr. Jevtić also highlighted additional benefit for the visitors – “Participants of this Chess Festival will enjoy in different suitabilities, which will be offered by the Organization Committee. Free tickets for city pool and free excursions to visit beautiful area resorts and historical monuments will be a supplemental effort to make a pleasant stay to all Chess Festival guests. During the whole summer there are many sport, cultural, music and art performances, held in the evenings at the central city square. That is unique event, traditionally organized, full of youth, beauty and spirit, which heightens all visitors.”

Great chance for foreign players to connect 3 tournaments in a row is that upon Paracin there is XV The Battle of Senta 1697 in Senta July 16th-23rd and 2nd International Championship of Vojvodina in Novi Sad, July 24th-30th.

OPEN A

OPEN tournament for players rated higher then 2100. Organizer is allowed to include certain number of players with lower rating. FIDE Swiss, 9 rounds. Tournament is valid for FIDE rating and international title norms. Time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes with 30 seconds cumulative increment for each move starting from move one. First 7 boards will be broadcasted online.

Prize fund: 453.000 din. (4500 €, 1 € ~ 100 din.)

Regular prizes: 405.000 din.

110.000, 80.000, 60.000, 40.000, 30.000, 20.000, 15.000, 12.000, 11.000, 10.000, 9.000 and 8.000, 12 prizes in total

Special prizes: 48.000 din.

OPEN B

OPEN tournament for players rated lower and equal to 2100. FIDE Swiss, 9 rounds. Tournament is valid for FIDE rating. Time control is 90 minutes per player plus 30 seconds cumulative increment for each move starting from the first move.

Prize fund: 102.000 din. (1000 €, 1 € ~ 100 din.)

Regular prizes: 90.000 din.
