The Armenian Chess Federation is organizing a “Chess Giants Yerevan 2008” Rapid Round-Robin Tournament, informs Gaguik Oganessian, General Secretary, Armenian Chess Federation. The tournament will be with the participation eight of the of world's top Grandmasters from June 8 to 15, 2008, in Yerevan, Armenia.

Parallel to the Chess Giants, there will be a rapid open in Yerevan.
The total prize fund of the open rapid tournament is 33000 USD with the following breakdown.

In case of a tie, prize money will be split evenly.

Chess players with an Elo from 2301 to 2450 - 50 USD

The tournament is held in 9 rounds, Swiss system. The time control is 25 minutes for the entire game with a 10 second increment added after each move.
