The 2nd International Open Maia Chiburdanidze Cup will take place on June 5th-15th in Tbilisi, Georgia. Playing venue will be Chess Palace, address M.Kostava str.37a.
A generous $10.000 USD prize fund will be divided into 10 general and 15 special prizes. The tournament will be 9 rounds, played in the Swiss system in accordance with the FIDE rules. The playing rate is 90 minutes for the entire game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.
6th June, 12:00-13:00 local time - Technical meeting and pairings
6th-14th June, 13:00 local time - Game start. One round daily, no rest day.
14th June, 19:00 local time - Closing ceremony
Prizes are given in GEL (Georgian Lari, 1 USD=1.70 GEL).
1st - 3000 and Maia Chiburdanidze's Cup, 2nd - 2200, 3rd - 1700, 4th - 1200, 5th - 700, 6th - 600, 7th - 450, 8th - 300, 9th - 250, 10th - 200
Special prize groups: Best women, best born after 1.1.1987, best born after 1.1.1989, best born after 1.1.1993, best born after 1.1.1997 (three prizes in each group)
