An international chess tournament dedicated to Bobby Fischer, will be held in Heviz from March 18 to 28. The event will be a category XVI tournament with a play rate of 100 min for 40 moves + 30 min until move 60 and 30 min + 30 sec until the end of the game.

The rounds start at 14:30 CET and will be played daily, except on the rest day March 23rd. Players have agreed not to offer draws before move 30 as a tribute to FIsher’s fighting spirit.

There will also be an accompanying strong Open event. GM/IM participants entry is free and the prizes start from 50 000 HUF for 1st place.

Heviz Fisher tournament will not only be about chess. Lajos Portisch, member of the successful chess olympics team of Hungary, will sing Schubert’s songs as part of the celebrations of the international Schubert year.
