Chess Festival Moscow Open 2009

January 30 – February 9 at the Russian State Social University

International Chess Festival “Moscow Open 2009″ will take place on January 30 – February 9 at the Russian State Social University in Vilgelma Pika street in Moscow. The festival consists of 7 separate tournaments: Open A, Open B, women Open C, school chess champions tournament Open D, school chess teams tournament Open E, The Cup of Rector of RSSU for chess teams of Universities – Open F, World Cup on chess compositions solving – Open G. Arbiters’ seminar under FIDE patronage and conference “Chess in the system of education of Russia and in the World” are held at the same time.

The time control that is valid in all tournaments is 105 minutes per player for the entire game, with extra 30 seconds increment starting from the move one. Tournament director is Alexander Kostyev, Head of the Chair of Chess at RSSU, and Chief Arbiter is Panagiotis Nikolopoulos, Chairman of FIDE Arbiter Committee. Total prize fund is 7 milion rubles, which is roughly 165.000 EUR!
