Ostravsky Konik Chess Festival

1-10th May in Ostrava, Czech Republic

The 16th Ostravsky Konik Chess Festival launches on Friday, May 1st in Ostrava, Czech Republic, and continues until May 10th. The Festival consists of 4-player double round-robin Supertournament, FIDE Open, National Open, Rapid, Blitz, Bughouse and Children tournaments. In addition, simultaneous and blindfold exhibitions will take place on the city’s main Masaryk square, prior to the Festival opening.

Swiss system, 9 rounds, 2 x 15 min.

D - Blitz tournament

Swiss system, 11 rounds, 2 x 5 min.

Attendance without restrictions, including free buffet for tournament’s participants

E - Bughouse tournament

System will be specified later

F - Children tournament in rapid

Swiss system, 7 rounds, 2 x 15 min.

Children under 15 with rating bellow 1800

* Criteria used for ranking: number of points, middle Buchholz, progress, number of wins
