Everything set for the 2008 Politiken Cup

Next Politiken Cup, to also act as 30th Copenhagen Open, is set to take place on 19th-27th July 2008. Organizers are keen to break this year's record when 325 players took participation and large number of Grandmasters is promising possibilities to earn IM and GM norms. The main tournament is open for everyone and will be played over 10 rounds of FIDE Swiss, with time control 40 moves in 100 minutes plus 30 minutes after move 40 plus 30 seconds increment starting from move one. Playing venue is again the beautiful Lo-skolen college.

1. 15.000; 2. 12.000; 3. 10.000; 4. 8.000; 5. 6.000; 6. 5.000; 7. 4.000; 8. 3.000; 9-13. 2.000; 14-20. 1.000;

Rating prizes (DKK):
1. 3.000; 2. 2.000;
For rating groups 1000-1500, 1501-1700, 1701-1900, 1901-2000, 2001-2100, 2101-2200, 2201-2300 (Minimum 10 participants in each group)
