2-15th April in Kragujevac
Serbian Chess Championship will take place on 2-15th April in Hotel “Šumarice” in the city of Kragujevac, the country’s capital from the 19th century. The organizers are Serbian Chess Federation, Kragujevac City Council, Chess Club Radnički and AGE company. In addition to the prize fund of 4.000 Euro, each player will receive a starting fee from 140-400 Euro, depending on the rating.
The top seeded player is GM Ivan Ivanisevic (2628), who is defending the last year’s title. Also qualified from the previous championship are GM Bojan Vuckovic (2576), GM Boban Bogosavljevic (2543) and GM Dejan Pikula (2570).

Robert Markus, Dragan Solak and Branko Damljanovic (2587) are invited on the criteria of the best average rating on the last two rating lists, but Markus and Solak have withdrawn and will be replaced by reserves – Nikola Sedlak (2592) and Igor Miladinovic (2574). Serbian Junior Champion Ivan Sarenac (2320) is automatically seeded into the finals.
The remaining six players have qualified from the zonal tournaments: GM Milos Perunovic (2568) and Aleksandar M Popovic (2230) from Belgrade, GM Dusan Rajkovic (2486) and GM Dejan Antic (2495) from Central Serbia, GM Sinisa Drazic (2513) and IM Mihajlo Zlatic (2468) from Vojvodina.
