GM Alexei Shirov to be the briliancy prize judge

The Surfers Open Paradise will take place in the end of August in Gold Coast Public Holiday, Australia. It will feature many titled players among which last years winner GM Dejan Antic, IM Stephen Solomon, IM David Smerdon, GM Darryl Johanson, GM Shootaj, IM Froelich, FM Jesse Sales, etc. The brilliancy prize will be awarded by GM Alexei Shirov. The first prize of the competition is 2000$.

In 2007 94 players took part in the competition. Gm Dejan Antic won the first prize, GM Roland Schmaltz and Moulthun Ly tied for second.
