2007 World Youth Chess Championship

Starting on Saturday in Kemer-Antalya, Turkey

The Government of Turkey and the Turkish Chess Federation (TCF) are hosting the World Youth Chess Championship 2007 (under 8 and up to under 18 years old – girls and boys) which will take place in Kemer-Antalya, Turkey, on 17th-29th November 2007.

TCF wants to ensure all the participants that this will be one of the most professional competitions in the history of chess for the world youth championships. TCF has also set a high goal regarding the participation in these events, expecting to achieve more than 2.000 players and 1.500 accompanying persons. Organizers moto is: “We want to make a significant impact with global media coverage and special attention to chess”.

The champions of each category (12 categories) will receive a Lap Top Computer, dual core. All 2nd places of those categories will receive Ipod Video. Third places will receive a very special magnetic wooden chess set. The Championship will take place at five star Hotel Limra and Hotel Alinda Beach and four star Hotel Sailors Beach.
