4th Polonia Wroclaw International Chess Tournament

20-26th June, 8.500 EUR prize fund

The 4th Polonia Wroclaw International Chess Tournament, under management of Chess Club Polonia Wroclaw and Lower Silesian Chess Federation, is scheduled to take place on 20-26th June. The playing venue is Hotel “GEM”, ul. Mianowskiego 2B, Wroclaw, Poland. The participants will be split in three groups, according to rating, with another separate section for children born on year 2000 or after.

The organizers have allocated a rich prize fund of 8.500 EUR total, with about 7.000 EUR devoted to the main A Group (for players rated 2000 and above). All three groups will be played with Swiss system, 9 rounds, and time control of 90 minutes per player, with an increment of 30 seconds per move. Draws are not allowed before move 30.

In addition, the 18th Adolf Anderssen Memorial will be held on 27-28th June, also in Wroclaw. This rapid tournament is organized by another club and we were not able to find more information except that the 1st prize should be within the same range as last year’s tournament (around 900 EUR in main event and 680 EUR for best woman).
